Have owned these for 7 months now and have some things to say:Some of the complaints I've seen about these headphones are 1. bugging out in cold weather and 2. creaking of the side bands and potential breakage.1. The cold weather (once you get to around freezing) really does not like the touch controls. If you go out in the cold for a few minutes, your headphones will silence as if you put your hand over the right cup (like you would if you're trying to talk to someone normally and want to silence your music). However, if you turn the headphones off and back on, I usually don't have a problem with it anymore. But also, I'm not hiking miles in the cold, so it doesn't really matter to me.2. The creaking, I discovered by opening the actual side bands of the headphones, seems to just be different parts rubbing against each other. In other words, it's not creaking because of stress or that it's breaking. In fact, I opened the side band, sprayed some silicone spray into it, and after a day or two, the creaking was gone, meaning that's probably not something breaking and more just parts rubbing against each other. This appeased a lot of my worries, since I discovered the creaking after the 6 month warranty was up.Overall, the headphones are great. I've had multiple chances to compare them with the comparable Bose models, and here's what I have to say about that: The Bose cups are indeed larger, so if you have large ears, those might be more comfortable. The top of the Bose press more on your head, because I think the Sony headband has a wider base and spreads more evenly on your head. That being said, the top of my head still got sore sometimes (I never really used headphones before) when I first started using them. I'm used to them now, though.Sound quality wise, I found Sony better, especially with the App equalizer tweaks. However, if it's a choice of sound quality, they're both really good. I mean, they're top of the line... so unless you're some audiophile psycho, you should be happy with both.Noise Cancelling:Sony seems more powerful. That's that. Some people complained of a slight waterfall rushing noise once the noise cancelling feature turned on, but most of the time I don't even notice it. In fact, I only heard it one day.. and I didn't know why. Perhaps I was just more alert that day or something. But most of the time, I don't hear anything.Weight;Sony's FEEL heavier on the ears, but I have a giant head, so it might be different if the band isn't stretched as far on smaller heads. In the end, I believe they were worth the money (it was a big investment for me). I use them almost every day and take super good care of them, so I see them lasting a while.
