12/21 Edit: Because this edit covers time used for the last 14 months and I think that the review after wearing daily for over a year is of the most importance, I am putting it first. Despite some initial issues with connecting, once they were ironed out, I have not had a single issue since. I wear these at least 90 minutes a day as I listen to audible content while walking the dogs. Holding 2 leases and needing a cane, I don't have extra hands to fiddle around with my earbuds.Sound remains very good. There is definitely a relationship between where the device is located and a secure connection when you are out in windy weather. If in my cross body bag, which leaves a device slightly behind me, then there can be static or breaks in connection. However if in front of me in a pocket,connection may only have very mild to no static when in high winds. Similarly the microphone is effected by wind while using the phone.Although in general I dislike Alexa, I can see where having voice control would be beneficial. Luckily I think the minor issues have been addressed in the new 08 Plus version which was just released.The durability is better than anticipated. While running with my dogs through a down pour, I dropped the charging case. A couple hours later I found it in the neighbor's back yard. To my surprise, the case continues to charge even after getting rained on.Because I drop things constantly, not being able to feel the ends of 5 fingers, I have dropped the earbuds onto the sidewalk more times than I want to admit to. Even dropping from 5 feet + onto a very hard surface hasn't effected functionality or the way the earbuds look. I would have anticipated some chips, scratches or dings. I am thrilled with how well they held up.I have needed to replace the tips and the funky rubber part that goes around the back. Luckily they sell complete replacement kits which I have just ordered.Despite being thrilled with these, I just ordered the new 08 Plus earbuds that were just released. Because the minor remaining issues were addressed as well as being wirelessly charged, I felt like I could hold this pair as a spare and upgrade to ones which I hope will be even better.Lastly, although it shouldn't matter, I like the way these look. They still remind me of a Swiss Army knife in appearance. I constantly am asked "who made your earbuds" while out walking. I simply like the appearance far more than all the ones that remind me of a blob of cow poop....sorry but that is what I think they look like although perhaps I should have said they look like an enlarged cashew! The earbuds are very comfortable. In short I have changed my stars from 4 to 5 because after a year, I love them more than any other earbud I have tried in the wireless category.Earlier reviews:I have deleted parts of the first 3 updates to shorten the review and because I never dreamed the stars I felt fair would continue to change! Basically for background I am on my fourth pair of this style of earbuds. I started with the initial design which had to be returned because they stopped connecting. When M&D came out with with the last two updates, I purchased and loved these exercise oriented ones. I was very disappointed when the next pairs also stopped connecting after a few weeks of use. I had tried all the M&D troubleshooting steps without success. Because I have nerve damage and the ends of 5 fingers have limited sensation, the earbuds that you tap to change functions just do not work for me. These have a mechanical button which does allow me to pause playback to talk to a neighbor or increase/decrease the volume as circumstances change. These are so comfortable. The ergonomics are excellent. They are very attractive, reminding me of a Swiss Army knife. At this juncture I can recommend purchasing because I have found a fix for the connectivity issue that developed with every single pair I had purchased. So that is the backstory and below are the shortened updates from earliest to latest in time.UPDATE: 01/12/2021: The earbuds had stopped connecting (again, 4th pair), but got a fix which WORKED from M &D. So if you loose bluetooth connectivity and have tried the steps on the M&D trouble shooting guide without success try this supplied by Jared at M&D because it worked!"I find that the following troubleshooting steps often resolve issues with the MW07.- Open Settings > Bluetooth. Remove, or "forget", the MW07 from your Bluetooth device list.- Clear out all other Bluetooth devices from your device list using the above method. Doing this helps the prioritization of MW07 in your list of Bluetooth devices.- Hard reset the earphones by holding the "Vol-" and "Vol+" buttons down simultaneously for 7 seconds. You may see a quick flash of light on the earphone.- Reset your source device. Close any open applications you are not using.- Re-pair your MW07 as if it were the first time connecting. Try the MW07 by itself before re-connecting your other Bluetooth devices.- Try the MW07 with another device, to see if you are able to recreate this issue across multiple sources. Does this issue occur across multiple sources?Hopefully, a hard reset will resolve these issues with your MW07"I am beyond pleased that this worked! Obviously if I didn't love the functionality and design of these so much I would have long ago stopped trying to make them work. If you have something work so well and then stop without any idea of cause it can be beyond frustrating. I think from reading the M&D suggestion that the issue may have been called because of the number of devices I had paired. While I did not think it was an excessive number, I had an Echo, a bluetooth speaker and a couple Kindles all paired on the same device. Because most of my books are listened to via the apps on my phone it ended up being paired with a bunch of things including these earbuds. There are so many things that have bluetooth connectivity but if unpairing and repairing fixes the problems, I am happy to add those extra steps.Update 4: 11/17/20: Well the stars keep a changing because the second pair which were recieved after 2 weeks of initial use (bluetooth connectivity issues) were clearly a "refurbished" not new pair which I initially was sending back.) Particularly as the first night I had BT issues. Because I love the design more than any others I decided to retain the replacement pair and give them a longer trial. Well they are working great and I have my fingers crossed. As giving them a 5 star review was immediately followed by the first pair not working, I am leaving the permanent review at 4 stars primarily because this company needs customer support in the worst way.2nd Update: Did giving these a 5 star review cause a jinx? After 2 weeks use, I couldn't get them to pair with or connect to my kindle, only hours after adding to my review to change it to 5 stars from 4 stars! The issue was that after 2 weeks of working perfectly and loving them, they stopped connecting to EVERY device I own (numerous kindles, samsung phone and chromebook, samsung tv, echo device, etc).I went to the online users manual and under trouble shooting it gives this advice if they fail to connect:"TROUBLE PAIRING EARPHONES AND DEVICE• Make sure both earphones are removed from the charging case whenattempting to pair your device. Cycle power by placing earphones in thecharging case and fully closing the lid. Then remove the earphones fromthe case to verify if they enter pairing mode. The indicator light will slowlypulse on the right earphone.• Turn Bluetooth OFF, then ON again on the source device.• Turn OFF Bluetooth feature on any other device that is paired withthe earphones.• Delete any MW07 GO earphones from your device and then put intopairing mode and pair again.• Make sure “M&D MW07 GO” is selected in the Bluetooth device list."So I did all these steps three times over 30 hours to no avail. The error messages said I had the wrong pin/password which is nuts since they don't require either!I tried Amazon product support chat service and basically they knew nothing more than what is in the troubleshooting guide. As I always exhaust all options BEFORE I contact them, that means there is effectively no additional troubleshooting provided by Amazon. They transferred me to the Kindle department site for trouble shooting. No help as the issue wasn't the sending device.Next went back to M & D website to see if there is a phone number or chat for customer service. No there isn't one. Rather the warranty instructs: "If you believe your product is defective within the warranty period, please contact us at [email protected]. Please include your product’s serial number, proof of purchase, telephone number and full return shipping address in your message to us. Conditional to serial number, proof of purchase, and warranty validity, you will be issued a return authorization and instructions for return shipment. Please note that the dispatch of a replacement product will take place after our receipt of the defective product."In other words you can't contact them with questions, you are limited to sending them back for replacement and waiting for them to evaluate before they send a replacement. The replacement may not be new which from a hygiene point of view is yucky. I asked if there was a blog or someplace customers could check other customers results to see if anyone had a similar issue and had been able to fix it. The blog on the manufacturer's website isn't interactive, it is just more advertising.I am beyond disappointed. These simply cost far too much to have issues this quickly and if connection is an issue, all else matters not! So returning them and wishing there was truly product support because if this could be fixed I would definitely keep them if I could figure out what went wrong and fix it!So why had I given them a 5 star return for the first two weeks?1.The ergonomics on the earbuds is superior to every other pair of ear buds I have owned. Having buttons instead of pushing on the back (which is basically the size of a nickel on most earbuds) makes everything so much easier. The"touch" manner of control may work for others but I have nerve damage and cant feel the ends of some fingers, including my index finger on right hand which means I am always guessing whether I touched in right place and for right amount of times! I realize a button means you have a mechanical component which can fail, but if an item is properly made the rate of failure when used properly should be more than 2 weeks!2. When they had connected the range was very good.3. The sound was good.4. Comfort able fit: They supplied a number of different sizes of ends from XS to XL, so you could for sure get ones that worked with your ear canal size. These are smaller than the other two pairs offered and apparently as my ears on the interior are small, these are the only ones that really work.5. The charging case was attractive and I actually preferred the herringbone textured case to the larger silver one because the silver one looked dirty almost immediately. (rather like how your ss refrigerator does!)5.They held a charge just as advertised which was fantastic.6. The charging case is small enough to fit in your pocket and does hold extra charges as advertised. In short until this connection issue I would rank these higher in all areas for similarly priced earbudsUPDATE Number 2:I sent the ear buds back for a replacement. Amazon'e replacement policy states: "..you can create replacement and exchange orders from this page by clicking Return Items and following the instructions. If you received a damaged or defective item, we’ll ship you a replacement of the exact item. If you would like to exchange an item for another, you can exchange for a different size or color or for an item in your Cart."Yesterday the replacements arrived and to my great dismay I had been sent a used pair instead of a new exact replacement as promised by Amazon. I spoke to 3 customer service reps and the manager stated that Amazon had no more in stock, so the manufacturer had issued the replacement and had labeled it as new. It was missing the outer cellophane covering and some stickers in the interior that had to be removed for use. When you initially remove from charging case they are supposed to automatically go into pairing mode. The replacement pairs did not do this. I had to manually pair these with each device because they had already been used by someone. While I had wiped everything down with disinfecting wipe, I don't now buy used items because of Covid. I hooked them up to my Samsung tv to try for a few hours. AFter 2 hours they disconnected and had to be reselected from tv menu as speaker and had to physically turn the earphone back on.The manufacturer and Amazon need to work on product support. Amazon: Don't offer support unless you are giving new additional information from what is on the manufacturer's site. And M & D: you need to offer either a chat, phone or email trouble shooting service if you hope to be successful.2nd UPDATE: week 2 because I truly loved the design of these I am keeping them for a further test run to see if they make it past the 2 week period of the initial pair! Despite having issues the first night, I continued to manually pair with devices. On my Samsung phone they are working dependably to date (about 9 days). I am going to try with Kindles to see if adding devices caused the problem of loss of bluetooth connectivity to occur. I can't think why it would make any difference but I also can't figure out why the first pair failed to operate after 2 weeks of working perfectly! I sure wish the manufacturer had a technical help service, it would vastly improve the experience.
