I have a tendency to look for renewed items first, as just like with a car, I rather not pay the 'depreciated cost' of a new item. I have been 100% successful in buying renewed items so far. I do always buy the extended warranty, as a just-in-case, and I am still saving money over the new cost of a particular item. These headphones have great dynamic sound, and very good bass sound, and I like my bass! Whether you like the dynamic sound of a symphony orchestra, or songs with 'beat', you will not be unhappy. I am fussy about my bass though. I want it 'sharp', not a muffled bass, and these very easily give a 'clean' bass sound. The headphone surprised me, in that they were lighter than I had expected. They feel just fine, except for when I had the band adjusted too tightly on my head--my fault. I do have to get adjusted to only having controls sticking out of one side of the headphone, and the 'touch' controls only on the opposite side. From what I have experienced with other headphones (Sony, Bose, and Beats ), I will be purchasing replacement ear pads, now, as backup for the future. I have found that as headphones age, the accessories for them dry up. I have backup ear pads, which I vacuum seal, to enhance their shelf life. I will say that the charging cord is ridiculously short. I ordered a longer recharging cable for mine. The cord that comes with the headphones appears to be made for laptop charging, where you have the headphones lying right next to the laptop. This may be fine for most people, but my primary computer is a desktop system and the cord was not long enough for the headphones to lie flat on ANYTHING. I had to take my laptop out and put it on the table, to have the headphones next to it, while charging. If you have a laptop, and want to charge, and listen at the same time, forget it, the cord is WAY too short for that.I wanted the noise canceling capability of this headphone, and it does a great job of doing it. I compared it against my Bose QC25, and my Bose QC35, and this headphone edged the QC35 slightly. I keep the ANC on, all the time.---------------------------------------------------UPDATEMarch 24, 2021Have been using these since Nov., with zero issue. Battery life is still totally amazing. I can say now that when I purchase again, I will go with Sony, and will look for a renewed pair again. I am 200% satisfied with this purchase.
